FEBICO Presents Microalgae-Based Biomedical Platforms at BIO 2026
FEBICO participated in BIO 2026 in San Diego, presenting microalgae-based biomedical platforms in new drug research, medical materials, extracellular vesicle technology, and international collaboration.
FEBICO participated in BIO 2026, held from June 22 to 25 in San Diego, United States, as part of the Taipei City delegation. The event brought together global biotechnology companies, research teams, and industry partners to explore new developments in the biomedical field.
At the exhibition, FEBICO presented its microalgae-based biomedical platforms and shared how microalgae can be applied beyond nutritional supplements. The company’s current development areas include new drug research, medical materials, biomedical materials, and extracellular vesicle technologies.
A key highlight was FB-1603, a microalgae extract-based drug candidate developed by FEBICO BioMedical. FB-1603 has entered Phase II clinical trials and is being developed for liver injury-related applications. FEBICO also presented FB-1807, a microalgae-derived small-molecule active compound, as part of its ongoing research pipeline.
FEBICO also introduced its antiviral research platform, which is based on long-term studies of bioactive compounds from local microalgae strains. These studies support the company’s work in both health supplement ingredients and future biomedical applications.
Another featured technology was FEBICO’s natural microalgae-derived extracellular vesicle platform. This technology has received Taiwan’s first plant extracellular vesicle INCI recognition and has been applied in Narogen®, an advanced skincare application focused on skin repair and elasticity support.
Through BIO 2026, FEBICO looks forward to building connections with international partners and exploring opportunities in collaboration, licensing, and co-development. FEBICO will continue to advance microalgae-based innovation and bring more possibilities to the global biomedical market.
